Youth are the Future
of Non Profit Leadership

It is important for them to be sitting at the decision-making table. They bring fresh perspective to the complex social issues being addressed by our sector and are essential in creating a sustainable future.

About Us

Making an Impact

Supported by Canada Service Corps, Youth @ the Table is a province-wide initiative seeking to engage youth ages 18-30 at the governance level of nonprofit organizations.

Participants will spend at least six months collaborating with nonprofit organizations in their communities to address social issues they care about. They will also collaborate with other youth across Alberta to identify good practices and principles for youth engagement at the governance level.

Our Approach

Youth @ the Table works hard to create and promote inclusion, collaboration, and system-based analysis, The program applies systems thinking and systemic design tools that support participants in understanding relevant systems (e.g., non-profit boards/organizations, non-profit sector, etc.) and developing big-picture understandings of their experiences on their boards and through their interactions with their peers.
